Can't even see the post on the FB page link, but I can't let that stop inspiration, or Mark C. Anderson's vision of inspiring even more bad poetry into this world. I suppose we all have dreams.

The hoarding is horrifying
over at Mom's,
what once were foods have turned into bombs.
Racks and stacks,
and piles on the floor,
so many cans and jars
they're blocking the door.
Turn one over, check out the date,
it says best eaten by 2008.
It's fine she says, but I just can't agree,
so I grab another can,
it says 2003.
When I think of the burgers and the steaks,
and the all-beef franks,
in terms of cows I've eaten,
I hunger for a journey,
to India, the East,
where bovine is divine, not beast.
And I long to graze with the holy cows,
and chew the grass, as they do,
and moo.
The people fighting it say it's flawed because it only addresses 1/3 of the food people eat everyday, but they represent the industrial interests of all thirds? Absurd. This measure is long overdue in my opinion, we are built from cells, which are built from food, and I'd prefer to keep Monsanto out of my organic chemistry.
Heartening to read about the fighters in the trenches, and glad they are cagey. Sad problem, good people on the mend. I work with many low-income youth who extract a lot of calories from the "Food Bank," despite the diabetes and obesity trends in their populations. That crap should be fed to fast food animals, or used as power plant fuel. For those trying to feed, as well as improve the diets of the poor, may you be blessed.

Yet another great piece of reporting from Mark C. Anderson. Following his PBF&W coverage is the next best thing to being there.
