ItsGretchen,

Why would you trust any airline, after seeing the Air France crash in the Atlantic last year costing about 200 lives? Seeing as how there are about 14,000 oil companies operating in the US alone, your comment seems somewhat prejudiced, as I'm certain you have no oil industry experience, and you don't know anyone whom you're accusing of environmental rape personally.

You do realize don't you, that oil companies do not draw dollar bills directly out of the ground? If oil companies are "raping" the land, it's only because people like you and I buy their products, and we also patronize companies that buy their products (how do you think the food you buy is cultivated, harvested, processed, and delivered to your local market?).

Someday we'll all be off oil. But until that time, wishing for a magic answer is not very productive. In the meantime, perhaps you can advise airline and oil companies alike how to eliminate human error and how to conduct their operations without any environmental footprint whatsoever, while they produce the products you demand. I'm sure leaders everywhere will be interested in your answer.
