White House Down: Olympus Has Fallen Trailer Released
January 22, 2013
Hollywood is once again digitally destroying the White House, only this time not entirely and not by a race of malevolent aliens eventually defeated by Will Smith.
Antoine Fuqua's Olympus Has Fallen features Gerard Butler as dutiful Secret Serviceman Michael Banning, who is removed from the president's detail after the first lady dies in a car accident. Banning somehow finds himself in the White House as a C-130 with a barrage of mini-gun fire helps a group of Asian terrorists take the building and capture the president, played by Aaron Eckhart.
The life of the Commander in Chief is in the hands of Banning, while Morgan Freeman, as the Speaker of the House, takes over as acting president and deals with even bigger problems.
It's hard to picture the terrorists coming out on top here, considering they're up against the leader of the Spartan army from 300 and a past POTUS that helped save the world in everyone's favorite doomsday copycat, Deep Impact.
The much-anticipated film hits theaters March 22.
