Ukulele Wiz Jake Shimabukuro to Play Free Show at Golden State Theatre

Image Hawaiian native Jake Shimabukuro spent about a year transcribing every note, pitch and rhythm of Queen's theatrical fave, "Bohemian Rhapsody," to be played on the ukulele. The outcome is remarkable (see below). He also does a killer version of The Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

Shimabukuro will be in Monterey as one of this year's participants in the fifth annual eg Conference at the Conference Center. But folks won't have to pay $4,000 to get a chance to see him work his ukulele magic.

The smiley and humble musician, who's been deemed the world's greatest ukulele player, will give a free performance at 5pm on Thursday, April 7 at the Golden State Theatre. The show will be part of a live taping for NPR's From the Top. Be sure to get a seat early. Reserve tickets now, HERE.
