Electro-Psych Duo MGMT to Play Big Sur

MGMT will bring its infectious, tongue-in-cheek brand of psych-dance music to the Henry Miller Library on Wednesday, Aug. 10 (a limited number of tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, June 17 at www.folkyeah.com). The show will undoubtedly be as big as last year's magical odyssey, courtesy of Arcade Fire.

The underachieving liberal arts majors—Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden—started the band as a joke in their freshman year at Wesleyan University. Following graduation, MGMT was signed by Columbia Records and was opening for Of Montreal. Things only got better from there: The group started making top ten lists in major music publications, touring with Beck, headlining at festivals and even opened for Paul McCartney at Boston's Fenway Park.
