Big Coup in Little Seaside: Peter Case Visits the Alt Cafe
June 20, 2011
Last Friday night, singer-songwriter Peter Case drew a capacity crowd to the Alternative Cafe. After seeing the legendary musician perform for the first time, I can see why people traveled from as far as San Francisco to see him play the intimate venue.
“One time, we pawned all our equipment and went to the track,” said Case as he exposed a missing canine. “That turned out to be a great idea.”
Case closed out his two-hour set with covers of Jimi Hendrix, Buffalo Springfield, Leadbelly and a killer rendition of Procal Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”
