Beach Boys Finally Confirm Reunion Tour
January 7, 2012
There have been more pump fakes surrounding the possibility of a Beach Boys reunion tour than an NBA basketball game. Nearly two years ago, Big Sur's own Al Jardine told the Weekly a reunion was in the works. But last September, Brian Wilson told Rolling Stone that "I don’t really like working with the guys, but it all depends on how we feel and how much money’s involved.” I guess a lot of money is going to be involved because according to the latest issue of Rolling Stone, the surviving members of the lasting band will embark on a 50-show, U.S. amphitheater tour in the summer of 2012 beginning in April with a show at the New Orleans' Jazz Festival. "It's been 50 years of fun, fun, fun," Mike Love told RS. "It's really cool we can get together and celebrate." Love also said that the set lists will be comprehensive and definitely include tunes from Pet Sounds and Smile. No exact dates have been announced.
