Wow at the Windmill is No More

Local music promoter Kiki Wow is facing yet another headache: The property management of the Barnyard is not going to let her use the spot above Lugano Swiss Bistro as a music venue.

The news was passed on appropriately on Friday the 13th in an email letter from Wow. But there's a silver lining thanks to Plaza Linda's new location:

Dear Friends, Yet another update: Turns out The Windmill was full of hot air! Here's what I know. Someone (who I would love to sit down and talk with if I knew who they were) informed the property management of The Barnyard that I conduct concerts without proper permits and get red tagged everywhere I go. This is simply untrue, but in protecting themselves from any problem with the County, property management made me immediately stop my shows and will not allow me to have any concerts there until they receive written verification from the county that I don't need a live music permit and that my music program meets all county codes and abides by the zoning and legal regulations. For the record, no complaint was ever received and based on my extensive previous research, I believe that no live music permit is even required due to the commercial zone and being way over 200 feet from residential property. Although I have provided the written approval from the county, authorization from the powers that be is undetermined and prohibiting me from properly advertising the shows required for the shows to be successful. In order to not cancel the shows with the artists who are already on tour in route, I am now relocating shows back to the new Plaza Linda location at 27 E. Carmel Valley Road since we now have our liquor license and the doors are open and we are safe and within all legal parameters to have solos, duos, acoustic live entertainment. I apologize to the bands and performers and readers for the confusion but did not foresee someone having the ability or authority to do such a thing. This is a set back but you know me, I'm made of rubber (and blubber).
