Two Teens Arrested for March 26 Murder in Marina

Marina police arrested two teens Friday and charged them with the March 26 murder of 17-year-old William Turcios, who died after being shot in the 200 block of Cypress Avenue in Marina.

Edgar Rodriguez, 19, and a 17-year-old boy whose name was withheld by Marina police, were identified and charged after a multi-month investigation by detectives. Rodriguez was arrested as he was driving into Seaside Friday, while the unnamed male was arrested after Marina patrol officers spotted him while on duty. Rodriguez was booked at the Monterey County Jail, and the 17-year-old is currently at juvenile hall.

According to Marina Police Lieutenant Richard Janicki, both suspects, who are being held on $3 million bail apiece, have been charged with murder, attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, gang conspiracy and committing the crimes for the benefit of a gang. The juvenile will likely be tried as an adult.
