Court Rejects Marina Coast Request to Appeal Lawsuit

A letter from Ralph Rubio of the waterWATCH coalition didn't persuade California Supreme Court judges to toss a out an Ag Land Trust lawsuit challenging the water rights in the Regional Desalination Project.
Today, the court denied Marina Coast Water District's request to send the case back to the appeals court, which may have allowed project proponents to move forward.
Now, it appears the desal project's fate may rest in the hands of Judge Lydia Villarreal. The Ag Land Trust lawsuit is scheduled to proceed to trial on Sept. 29.
