Occupy Monterey Marches Tonight and Sunday
November 11, 2011
The Occupy Monterey folks are getting organized, with an encampment that's grown fourfold since the Weekly stopped by last Sunday and two marches planned for this weekend.
They're occupying Colton Hall tonight at 6pm with a rally and march through downtown (see video of last weekend's march here). "Let us gather and celebrate the freedom of thought and expression in a constructive manner, and give the city of Monterey a night to remember!!!", reads a flyer being distributed downtown by Occupy Monterey members.
Sunday's action includes a noontime occupation of Window on the Bay Park on Del Monte Avenue and a 1:30pm march downtown to express solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Organizers encourage supporters to bring "beach chairs, signs snacks, noisemakers and ideas for change."

The General Assembly on Nov. 12, 2011 at 4:30 PM is at Colton Hall. The Camp Assemblies at 10 AM occur daily and are at Veterans Memorial Park, Group Site 2 (Occupy Monterey Camp site).
The General Assembly of the Occupy movement the most democratic portion of what is all democracy in action.
People wait their turns to speak, the assembly, which is anyone who shows up, speaks back. Votes are taken, issues settled, and actions agreed upon Its more Sam Adams, than John Adams, right now, because were using our favorite model, the Founding Fathers. We need your voice, and the history in action is something to see. Nov. 12, 2011 at 4:30 PM is at Colton Hall. Were easy to spot we'll be the people, working to make our country better.
