Crabbers, Buyers Finally Agree to Price

After nearly two weeks of back-and-forth negotiations between crab fishermen and large-scale buyers over how much Dungeness crab are worth this season, the two parties have agreed on a price for the crustacean.
Buyers and crabbers came to an agreement Monday, settling for $2.25 a pound.
Fishermen from San Francisco to Monterey held out the last few weeks, hoping to lock down a $2.50 a pound price they say is necessary in offsetting rising costs, but buyers refused.
Fresh Dungeness crab should start showing up on ice at local grocery stores within 10 days.
