UPDATE: Coast Guard Search for Fisherman Near Moss Landing
April 3, 2012
The U.S. Coastguard is widening the search for a 42-year-old fisherman from Salinas who fell overboard somewhere in the vicinity of Moss Landing Tuesday morning.
John Penisi and two crew members aboard the 43-foot fishing vessel, Elaine—owned by Pennisi—reported the man missing and suspect he fell into the water sometime after 6:30am as they made their way to the fishing grounds.
A 47-foot motor life boat along with an 87-foot cutter—both stationed in Monterey harbor—are combing the bay alongside at least one other Coast Guard vessel and a Dolphin helicopter.
