Women's Peace Group to Protest Bombs at Portola Plaza
August 21, 2012
There’s nothing like a classified bomb and warhead meeting to get peace activists riled up about peace.
In response to the two-for-one meeting between the Ballistic Division’s Fifteenth Classified Ballistics Symposium and the Bomb & Warhead Division’s 61st Annual Bomb & Warhead Technical Symposium at the Naval Postgraduate School, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom are staging a peace protest against bombs at Portola Plaza at 6pm.
Local peace activist MacGregor Eddy got wind of a reception for the “weapons makers and users” at Portola Plaza and sent out a call to action email.
Eddy was mentioned in Monday’s Extra Helping of Squid after informing Weekly staff of her intention to hold an informational action at the front gate of NPS at some point during the week-long symposium.
