MPC Welcomes New Superintendent
December 17, 2012
Monterey Peninsula College bid farewell to its superintendent and president today, while welcoming a new one.
Dr. Douglas Garrison (pictured above), superintendent and president of the school since 2006, retired, making way for Dr. Walter Tribley.
“Monterey Peninsula College is obviously a priceless asset to the communities it serves,” Tribley says in a statement, adding, “I am honored to serve as the next president... and to further ensure the fulfillment of its mission and role in the community.”
Tribley was previously vice president of instruction and chief academic officer of Wenatchee Valley College, as well as chief administrative officer of the school’s Omak campus in central Washington.
Tribley holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Washington State University and has more than fifteen years of experience in higher education.
