Moniz Backs Out of Carmel Council Run
January 13, 2012
After delaying a New Year's Day video announcement of his intentions regarding Carmel's April election, Sotheby's realtor and former mayoral candidate Adam Moniz quietly opted not to run. He lost narrowly in 2010 to Sue McCloud, who is retiring.
Moniz says he's already actively engaged in Carmel by serving on non-profit boards, attending council meetings and working in real estate. "It's a wonderful, wonderful community," he writes by email.
Restaurateur Rich Pepe and Councilman Jason Burnett are slated to face off for mayor April 10. Ken Talmage is running for reelection to council, and Carmel Planning Commissioner Victoria Beach plans to run for outgoing Karen Sharp's council seat.
