Two Wounded in Seaside Shooting on Sunday
March 4, 2013
A man and woman were shot on Sunday night, becoming the first victims of gun violence this year in Seaside.
Just before 10 pm, police were called to an apartment complex near the corner of Baker Street and San Pablo Avenue. A woman there was getting something from her car in the apartment parking lot when she was hit by a stray bullet. She was about 30 yards from a man who was shot while standing in the parking lot.
The suspect fled in a car, but hit two parked cars before the suspect abandoned it and ran. Seaside police took the car in as evidence.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police say the shooting may be gang related.
