PHOTOS: Lorenzo Wins Pole Position for Sunday's MotoGP Race.

Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo sped to the top of Sunday's starting grid for Sunday's MotoGP race.

Last year's US Grand Prix winner and defending world champion suffered a crash during morning practice, which scared his team with the potential not to start the race, but Lorenzo held onto the top time for the last 35 minutes of the hour-long qualifying session on Saturday afternoon.

Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa, both of the Repsol Honda team, qualified second and third with times just behind Lorenzo's fastest lap of 1'21.202.
