PHOTOS: 2011 International Flavors of Marina
October 14, 2011

A great assortment of Marina's flavorful bites gathered last night for the third annual International Flavors of Marina.
Coffee purveyor Horace Mercurio of Coffee Mia brought the favorite cannoli for a sweet tase.
Wild Thyme Deli brought a subtle, but multi-flavored Israeli cous-cous with dried fruits and nuts, mint and parsley with a hint of squash.
The Ginger People kicked it up by adding spiced rum and lime to ginger beer.
Lola's Kusina met sample-goers with meat of pork chunks cooked in brown sugar, garlic, salt and pepper.
The Otter Bay Restaurant at CSU Monterey Bay ruled with Baron of Beef: a gracious chunk of meat atop a helping of mashed potatoes, garnished with caramelized onions with a red wine demi-glase.
A Plus Marina Quality Water also dishes out ice cream from Marianne's in Santa Cruz. (Pro-tip: Marina mayor Bruce Delgado is BIG fan of the Ten Twenty (botom left in the above photo): caramel ice cream, Oreo cookie and fudge swirl.)
Michael's Taqueria had quite the smorgasbord with blackened shrimp, taco salad and a seven-layer dip, just to name a few.
Round Table Pizza even made an appearance, slicing up Maui Zaui, BBQ chicken and their Gourmet Veggie pizzas. The Marina manager Noey also mentioned that he gets his vegetables from Camacho Produce in Seaside to help keep the ingredients as fresh as possible.
Bargain outlet Grocery Outlet dosed out some of their huge variety of economy-priced wines and sippers could walk away with a logo-adorned glass.
Iris Peppard of Everyone's Harvest was berry good with Watsonville fruit.
