PHOTOS: 3 Different Sports in 15 Hours
September 10, 2012
It was a busy weekend for the photo department.
Shooting nearly 1500 pictures on two cameras, I whittled the three events down to my 51 favorite frames.
Saturday evening saw the local roller derby league heat up their skates in Marina with the Monterey Bay Derby Dames' Steinwreckers crushing the visiting South County Derby Girls from Gilroy with a final score of 128-68.

At 8:40am on Sunday, triathletes jumped in the water for the first wave of the 2012 Triathlon at Pacific Grove sprint race. After one lap, they hopped on a bicycle for two laps down towards Asilomar and back, finishing with a two -lap run along Oceanview boulevard.

After a 10-minute break at my house, I headed up to Laguna Seca for the last race of the year, which was a near-three hour Grand Am race starting at noon.
It was surprisingly nice light for having such a high sun and I made a few photos I hadn't made before, which is always nice after having shot at a location for many years.
