The big sight of the week was NASA's Space Shuttle Endeavor flying over Monterey Bay en route to Los Angeles where it will make its home at the California Science Center next month.
In local politics, activists are protesting the Fort Ord Reuse Authority's want to cut down trees in Parker Flats near 8th avenue and Gigling road in Seaside near the proposed Monterey Downs horse-racing track; while candidates prepare for the upcoming November elections.
