Pot Arrest

57-year-old Randy Lange.

Even though Christmas is over, Santa Claus is still giving out presents.

According to a press release from the Seaside Police Department, a 57-year-old Monterey Peninsula man was arrested today after packaging and handing out marijuana to customers and staff at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Seaside. The man claimed to be Santa Claus and said the pot was a gift to the recipients.

Customers at the popular sports bar called police just after 4pm after Randy Lange was allegedly seen wrapping marijuana in napkins and handing it out to people inside the restaurant. Lange also allegedly gave one employee a napkin filled with pot and stuffed a large amount inside the bar’s tip jar.

Lange was arrested for furnishing marijuana. When police searched Lange’s duffel bag and backpack, they allegedly found five football-sized amounts of pot, weighing in at over two pounds.

“He went in and had a few beers and was walking around,” says Sgt. Nicolas Borges, denying he was harshing Santa’s mellow. “He told me he likes giving out marijuana. I have never experienced anything like this.”

Lange was being held by Seaside Police.
