Intimate Stares doesn't fluff around with musical genres. Yes, the band made up of James Findlay (formerly of The Silhouette Era) on guitar and vocals, Henry Leinen (formerly of Christian Slater) on bass and CJ Prough (formerly of The Bad Light) drum, does have a punk rock quality to their music. And yes, the speeds at which they play can even be reminiscent of ’70s surf rock. But really, the best way to describe this trio is plain, old, rock 'n' roll. Volume at 11 rock 'n' roll. Scare the neighbors at an indecent hour rock 'n' roll. They've harnessed some of that talent and share it on the live stage, but also put it into three spanking new songs. Heavy metal rockers Big Rig from Santa Cruz and Salinas' Winter Winds also join the roster. [MA]
