The humble dance floors of Fernwood Tavern and Barmel are in for a little mix up for the weekend, thanks to this London-based electronic-pop performer. Sharing stages with the likes of Weezer and Crystal Castle, James Allison, who goes by Digisaurus when he performs, is not just a one-trick performer. Maybe it has to do with his background as a studio producer, opening up his studio for artists such as Phantogram, Ezra Furman and Damien Jurado. That kind of creative capital makes him explosive on the synth and guitar. His voice isn't bad either. In any case, his music from his debut album No More Room for Love to his newest single "Lost By Dawn," is the kind of cosmopolitan, electro-pop dance music that breaks the mold of the peace and quiet of Carmel and Big Sur. He plays at 8pm on Thursday at Barmel and at 10pm on Saturday. [MA]
