Strike up the band, in a huge and beautiful and free (as in zero cost to you) way. That's the mission of Monterey County Pops! in this free (as in zero cost to you) family concert at Greenfield High. The Pops! will present a program of light classics, marches, film music and traditional tunes from Mexico, with a couple of big bonuses on offer (for free, as in zero cost to you). First, featured guest performers of the Greenfield High Advanced Band and Concert Choir will perform, and so will the Mariachi of Greenfield High. Then, classical guitarist Terrence Farrell, a Monterey Peninsula resident and one of the most sought-after classical guitarists in the world, will perform. It's worth mentioning that more than 100 students at Greenfield High are taking guitar classes; prior to the concert, Farrell will conduct a clinic for those very same guitar students. And last but certainly not least, vocalist Elise Rotchford, the Pops! administrative assistant who was previously the music librarian for Luciano Pavarotti's Three Tenors organization, performs as well, as solo vocalist.
