For the homeless, the incoming winter can be the harshest of seasons. The days are getting shorter and darker and can make traveling harder. Colder weather means a need for a hot meal and a warm bed in a time when shelters are more impacted. Small efforts like these, which bring together the goods and services of businesses, can't solve the bigger problem, but they do provide some relief. This event is open and free to anyone (with or without shelter). Those who do stop by can grab hot food, clothes, coffee and produce. They can even get a haircut and drop in for a free yoga session. The event brings together—Captain + Stoker, Good Roots, Wedo's and others—on the Peninsula Rec Trail Parking lot, across the street from the Naval Postgraduate School.
