It’s aliveeeee! No, not the zombie, we’re talking about the play at MPC. The cast and crew behind Frankenstein are bringing the story of one professor’s obsession to the stage. Based on the 1818 novel by Mary Shelley, the play follows Professor Victor Frankenstein as he gets a little too good at playing god by successfully bring to life a monster—who, by the way, isn’t named after its creator. Unknown to Frankenstein, his creation somehow has a superhuman strength that, along with its obviously undead features, freaks out the provincial townfolk who want it destroyed. But it’s OK. It’s just a play. So yeah…real zombies aren’t being resurrected here…or are they? Frankenstein previews on Oct. 10 at 7:30pm and officially opens the following night. Performances continue Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm, until Oct. 27. [MA]
