Ah, nothing breaks the binds of writer’s block than a muse. Yes, it’s cliché, but that is essentially the premise of Shakespeare in Love. Except something about the mixture of humor, young love and wit, have endeared this play (and the 1998 movie of the same name) to audiences for two decades. The play follows a stressed William…well, you know his last name, as he falls in love with an high-born aristocrat name Viola. His newly found muse is in a contract of marriage with the unromantic and inept Wessex, who can hardly describe why he is attracted to Viola. Meanwhile, Viola herself desires to be in one of Will’s plays during a time when only male performers were allowed on stage. The PacRep crew takes on the play for three weeks, with shows Thursdays through Sundays at 7:30pm until Oct. 13.
- Starting Friday, September 27th, 2019, repeated every week on Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until Sunday, October 13, 2019 @ 7:30 pm
