Matt Baldwin

Matt Baldwin performing at the 2011 Nacarubi Festival in Big Sur.

Initially influenced by John Fahey, Pacific Grove native Matt Baldwin plays solo acoustic guitar music with no vocals. In 2006, he contributed four tracks to Berkeley Guitar, a split record with fellow acoustic guitarists Matt Baldwin and Adam Snider. Two years later, Baldwin released his debut solo album, the five track Paths of Ignition. It includes three originals along with unlikely covers of Krautrock band Neu!’s “Weissensee” and Judas Priest’s “Winter.”

These days, Baldwin's one-man show is an all-electric, psychedelic playground featuring looping pedals and a plethora of effects.
