After a very dry winter and a short break, the Chews Ridge lookout in the Los Padres National Forest, went back in service on May 4. The lookout is staffed by volunteers organized by the Monterey Chapter of the Forest Fire Lookout Association. This composite image made out of 321 photos shows star trails in the night sky over the lookout. Photographed with a Nikon D6, 24 mm lens, f4.0, ISO 320, shutter speed 20 seconds, one image every 22 seconds.
