Filing period begins for Alisal Union School District recall election.

Ibarra's outbursts at district board meetings have sometimes forced recesses, and at one point, led to Ibarra's microphone being turned off.

The candidate filing period begins today for the Sept. 9 recall election of embattled Alisal Union School District board member Meredith Ibarra. Candidates have from June 2 until 5pm, June 26 to enter the race.

The election comes after the Alisal board passed a resolution May 14 to move forward with the recall. If the majority of the vote is affirmative, Ibarra will be recalled from her position on the board, and the results of the election will determine her successor.
