On their first full-length CD, The Bluffingtons Hate You!, Carmel punk trio The Bluffingtons evoke the simple, sped-up rock of classic punk bands like the Ramones and the Descendants. The opening track, “Marcy Was a Crack Whore,” finds the band nailing the humor and sound—complete with vocals that recall Joey Ramone—of punk legends the Ramones. Meanwhile, the 13-second-long “My Pants” is a punk rock spasm reminiscent of the Descendants’ classic “Weinerschnitzel” with the lyric “my pants are tighter than yours” yelled over and over. The last song, “No Bedtime for Peter Metro,” finds the guys branching out with acoustic instruments and lyrics about unicorns before a wall of punk guitar kicks in.

All in all, it is an impressive self-produced release by a threesome of Carmel kids who have not yet graduated from high school.
